Anna Dello Russo talks about her new role as a "fashion icon"

Anna Dello Russo now no longer "just" the fashion editor of Vogue Nippon, but a "fashion icon" that is observed all over the world to capture new trends and to look more closely at those who fashion the lives in the real sense of the word. During each fashion week all eyes are fixed on her, that we know will surprise us with the leaders just and her innate elegance. But what has all this attention and Anna what do you think?

Let's go straight to the point: what do you think about this "new" phenomenon that has brought you to be the biggest style icon streestyle?

This is exceptional. Once I said to Scott [Schuman, The Sartorialist], "thanks for giving me another career" after years as a fashion editor. And 'as if the targets had turned and had begun to focus on me. Many of us were invisible, were the models, photographers and a whole team of people. When the goals have turned and pointed at us has started a new career. The job of styling is the same, but done on me. And when it happened I was prepared, I knew what to do. This whole business of "streetstyle" [during the fashion week] is like a job, everything is planned and designed in advance (..) I just hope it does not see, by losing the spontaneity and turning it into fake outfit .

Do you think the work you do on yourself is like working on a photo shoot?

I prepare almost six months earlier. Choose clothes (almost 90 outfits for each fashion week), I think what may have a good impact lens. It 'nice to change and be full of surprises while remaining true to your style ... a change of style is exactly equal to the work of fashion editors, you need to surprise, if not it becomes boring. We need "new blood"; same style, but look different. But on the whole is much more fun, if nothing else not wait for the model to be ready ..
